Full Advisory Text
Warning Description: Heat Advisory Warning Date: 4:18 am CDT on July 30, 2010 WarningSum:...Heat Advisory Remains In Effect From Noon Today To 7 Pm Cdt This Evening... Warning Message:...Heat advisory remains in effect from noon to 7 PM CDT Saturday... A heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this evening. A heat advisory remains in effect from noon to 7 PM CDT Saturday. A hot and humid airmass will affect the region for Friday into this weekend...when high temperatures are expected to range from the middle and upper 90s across coastal locations...to near 100 degrees across inland areas. The heat will combine with high humidity to result in afternoon heat index readings near 108 degrees for several areas. The most oppressive conditions are expected for inland locations immediately adjacent to the coast. Additionally... low temperatures will only fall into the middle and upper 70s...providing little relief from the hot conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Children...the elderly...and people with chronic ailments are usually the first to suffer from the heat. Heat exhaustion...cramps...or in extreme cases...heat stroke can result from prolonged exposure to these conditions. Drink plenty of water...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors. "1">
